Catholic Goldmine, established in 1995, is rich in history. The site originally launched on the world wide web in April 1995 as the preeminent Catholic link directory with 300 links. In it's first 3 years it was visited over 360,000 times and contained close to 2000 links. In early 2000, Catholic Goldmine received a much needed redesign to accomodate its growth. At that time people were visiting Catholic Goldmine at a rate over 100,000 times per year. In May 2001, Catholic Goldmine received a fresh look after its 1 millionth visit!
Catholic Goldmine continued its growth and grew to about 3,000 screened links. Unfortunately, the site fell into a state of disrepair in early 2004. Catholic Goldmine was rarely updated and became very stale for about two years until it went offline in April 2006. The Catholic Company, the leading Catholic books and gift store, brought it back online in 2007.
